Mathematical/Scientific ideas do not develop by just telling them. They also do not reach the students by merely giving explanations. Students need their own framework of concepts and an environment where they can discuss ideas, look for solutions to problems, set new problems and find their own ways of solving problems and their own definitions.
A teacher helps the student inculcate such ideas. The emphasize is not on remembering algorithms, doing complicated mathematical problems or remembering proofs but understanding how mathematics & science work and being able to identify the way of moving towards solving problems.
To achieve these goals, the teacher expects the student to be a participant in learning, and not just as a receiver of a fixed body of knowledge.
We, at Chrysalides, ensure the participation of every student in the class. We believe that no question is silly and most of the students do not ask questions simply because of hesitation and under confidence. We encourage each & every student to think and ask questions. The purpose is to take mathematical/ scientific concepts out of the books and make them application based. We don't believe in mugging up. We make sure the student understands the concepts well and then practices each topic over & over again.
Living in the US, I still use Prateek sir's mnemonics.
Studies apart, Prateek sir has shaped me into a better person.
Best two years of my life at Chrysalides so far.
Prateek sir is the real class act and magician.
Prateek sir really boosted my confidence and made sure I got a good score in my academics.
